The SEGD Global Design Awards, renowned as one of the most respected accolades in experiential graphic design, received 292 entries from 17 countries. From this competitive pool, only 29 projects were selected for recognition, with just nine—including our UEL project— honoured with the highest-level award. These awards celebrate excellence in experience design across a range of completed projects.
As the lead design consultant for the UEL project, we managed the selection and coordination of the entire design team. The project earned recognition for its 'Placemaking Masterplan, Wayfinding Strategy & Design,' which transformed the university campus into a unified, user-friendly space. This success underscores our commitment to designing environments that are not only functional but also enriching for the people who experience them.
The SEGD jurors commented, “The integration of placemaking and wayfinding underscores the project's strength. The striking totems and bold three-dimensional typography not only serve as focal points but also facilitate navigation, activating spaces and prompting moments of reflection. Furthermore, they foster a sense of connection between students and the surrounding neighbourhood while also extending an invitation to the local community to engage with university spaces.”
"We're incredibly proud to receive this SEGD award. It stands as a testament to our team's hard work, creativity, and dedication, and the invaluable collaboration with our partners and UEL, who helped bring this vision to life," said Paul Veness, Co-Founder and Operations Director of Endpoint.
